Oost NL plays a key role in developing future-proof business parks by supporting Smart Energy Hubs in East Netherlands. We work closely with local governments, grid operators, and businesses to launch innovative projects. Our focus is on scaling promising initiatives, ensuring these hubs contribute to a sustainable energy supply and accelerate the energy transition in the region.

As a Regional Development Agency, we focus on fostering regional cooperation, financing, and supporting projects. Oost NL also leads the national energy hubs stimulation program on behalf of ROM-Nederland.

Energy Hubs stimulation program 2024 - 2030: the path to scaling up

The Dutch government is allocating €166 million to stimulate local and regional energy hubs between 2024 and 2030. In collaboration with provinces, grid operators, municipalities, and Regional Development Agencies (ROMs), an implementation plan is being developed. The Ministry of Climate and Green Growth has provided guidelines for this process, including appointing hub coordinators and selecting high-potential projects. Oost NL supports this initiative by investing in innovation, financing, and knowledge sharing. This accelerates the scaling of local energy hubs, contributing to sustainability and a stronger business climate.
