As a partner, connector, and enabler, Oost NL strengthens the foundation for innovative entrepreneurs in Gelderland and Overijssel who drive sustainable change. Together, we shape a future where technological innovation contributes to progress in food, health, tech, and energy. We do this by harnessing the strength of the eastern Netherlands, commissioned by the provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel and the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Driven by our clear social mission, we bring together knowledge, networks, and financing. This enables us to help entrepreneurs accelerate innovation and bring their ideas to market. Our approach focuses on:

Strengthening ecosystems and knowledge networks: we develop and support innovation clusters and connect entrepreneurs with research and education institutions.

Venture funding in early stages: we provide financial support to startups and innovative SMEs that contribute to social and economic impact.

At Oost NL, environmental, social and good governance (ESG) principles are at the heart of everything we do. Transparency is second nature to us - we take responsibility and report clearly on our activities.

High ESG standards: we apply strict criteria to all collaborations and investments. Our impact and ESG policy is embedded in our processes and enables us to support companies that contribute to sustainable growth.

Our own operations: we take ESG seriously internally as well. We focus on diversity, employee well-being, sustainable procurement, and reducing our CO₂ emissions.

Why we don’t sponsor, but do contribute to a stronger region.
Oost NL operates on behalf of the provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel and the Ministry of Economic Affairs. As we work with public funds, we do not offer sponsorships - not even for charitable causes.
What do we do instead? Every day, we support entrepreneurs in the eastern Netherlands. With our knowledge, networks, and financing, we accelerate innovation and help bring it to market. In doing so, we create impact together and build a sustainable, future-proof region.

The Netherlands is home to nine regional development agencies (ROMs), forming a strong national network under ROM-Nederland. Together, we stimulate innovation and strengthen regional economies. With a shared focus on ecosystem development, accelerating innovation, and attracting investment, we are shaping a future-proof Netherlands.
Each ROM focuses on the unique strengths of its region:

- Horizon Flevoland: for Flevoland.
- Impuls Zeeland: for Zeeland.
- InnovationQuarter: for South Holland.
